Presents,
Buzkashi / OX Game
-For the first time in history our cowboys traveling to Afghanistan-
One of the oldest sports known to man - Buzkashi - is coming to Val Shearer Equestrian Center in Hesperia on Saturday, November 18, 2006 at noon.
The Ox Game is a modernized version of Buzkashi which has its roots in Afghanistan. In that country it is still the national sport. Mr. Sonny Amin is bringing his life-long dream to reality by presenting the Ox Game to the American public.
An open audition for horsemen to participate in the game on Saturday will be held beginning at noon. Qualifications include good horsemanship, strength and bravery! The goal of the game is simple. The team who pitches a heavy object (the ox) across the goal line first wins the match. This is a wild, untrammeled and freewheeling game.
Admission to the event is FREE to encourage both horsemen and thrill seekers to bring their families and friends for a day to remember. Ox Boys’ Captain, Richard Johnson of Murrieta, has recently restructured the Horse Ox teams. He looks forward to the addition of new horsemen.
We will have a trophy for the most valuable athlete, plus large first place ribbons for the winning team. A number of local Rodeo Queens will be present to carry flags. Consider sponsoring a Cowboy & Horse to provide support to the Ox Games and promote your business!
At the request of the Afghan Olympic Committee, Horse Ox USA Corporation will be traveling to Afghanistan on March 21, 2007. With the support of the Afghan government, and hoping assistance for better direction and help from U. S. State Dept. and U.S. Olympics, we will be playing in Kabul. Our goal is to play with Afghani Chapandez, entertain our American troops and bring our cultures together as we strive for peace and prosperity for both countries.
We will be selecting Cowboys to participate in this trip after tryouts.
Please join us at Val Shearer Equestrian Center, 16292 Lime Street, Hesperia, CA on Saturday, November 18th, 2006. Gates open at noon for Ox Boy auditions. Color Guard & National Anthem at 1:30 p.m. Ox Games from 2:00 - 3:45 p.m. Further tryouts until 5:00 p.m. We’ll have music, food & fun!!
