First Time Real Estate Buyers Have A Hard Time in UK

Apr 05, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- Getting on the UK property ladder isnt easy.
First you have to try and find a house that you can afford.
This is typically 3.5 x the highest income.

So lets say the average person in the UK earns £25000 ( still a bit high for most normal jobs.. )
but that would mean you could afford a house valued at approximately £87500

Now this isnt much help because for a half decent flat or house that isnt in the middle of a warzone you will need at least £102'000.

Moving on...
So you have found a house and can just about afford it.
You now need to get a mortgage in principal from a highstreet lender preferably.

You then need to find 5% of the mortgage value as a deposit.

So you have done that and have made an offer on the house.. within 10 days of an offer on the house being accepted the 5% deposit is due.

Don't forget you should take out a conveyancer report... this will set you back approx £500

This will check that the house isnt about to fall down around your ankles.

Seems a lot of effort just to buy a house...

Luckily http://www.buyingfirsttime.co.uk provide in depth guides to help first time buyers get on the ladder quickly and easily.
