In light of the news headlines about millions of toys recalled that were made in China and other countries, a local Colorado mother decided to take action and create an informational site to help other parents find safe toys Made In The USA for the upcoming holiday season.
"After the 10th news story about recalled toys made in China, I knew that I had to take action", stated Sue Laurent, founder of www.MadeInUSAForChristmas.com. "I myself looked around the web for a site that provided information on US toy manufacturers, and many were incomplete, so I decided to start my own."
The site has received "thank yous" from moms and dads across the US. Many have suggested manufacturers to be included on the site.
"It's great to get feedback - especially so quickly. Knowing that people out there find the information helpful helps keep me going at night."
Sue hopes to keep the site up well beyond the holiday shopping season. "My hope is that the additional sales for these US manufacturers will encourage them to keep producing their products in the US. Plus, perhaps others will be pushed to do the same".
