Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association Supports Actions of Federal Air Marshals

As the President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), representing over 24,000 federal law enforcement officers, including over 1,300 Federal Air Marshals, I fully support the actions of the Federal Air Marshals in Florida yesterday. As the President of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association (FLEOA), representing over 24,000 federal law enforcement officers, including over 1,300 Federal Air Marshals, I fully support the actions of the Federal Air Marshals in Florida yesterday.

Federal law enforcement officers put their lives on the line everyday to keep our nation safe from terrorists and violent criminals. They are a great asset to our nation.

Yesterday, Federal Air Marshals acted appropriately, and did as they have been trained to do, when confronting an armed suspect believed to be carrying an explosive device.

Law enforcement officers are forced to make split second decisions every day, based on the information they have at hand and the training they have received. Those heroic Federal Air Marshals took the appropriate and necessary action yesterday to protect the lives of hundreds of individuals at Miami International Airport. I wish to thank them for doing their job.
