SUFFOLK, VA –FLEXA furniture has been asked to participate in ABC’s” Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” for the second time in the 2006-2007 season. The new show, which airs Sunday, February 11, 2007 at 7-9 pm ET/PT, features the family of ex-Marine, Jason Thomas, who helped save two police officers trapped in the wreckage of the World Trade Center.
FLEXA donated a selection of beds, dressers, desks and fun accessories to the Thomas’ who have five children, 2, 3, 5, 10 and 13. One of the reasons the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” designers chose FLEXA is its adaptability. Because the furniture is modular and comes with removable accessories FLEXA’s children’s bedroom sets can be easily rearranged and redecorated to suit an entirely different child.
“FLEXA is perfect for big families like the Thomas’,”” says FLEXA USA president, Peder Sorensen who has three children of his own. “A bunk bed can be made into two single beds, an L-shaped bed or even a triple bunk. You make a bed that looks like a princess castle change into a soccer theme quickly and inexpensively. Your kids don’t have to grow out of their furniture. FLEXA grows with the child.”
Sorensen also points out that FLEXA furniture helps create a fun and safe environment for big families to play. In addition to the beds, desks and dressers, FLEXA also sent a slide, which attaches to the loft bed and a selection of textiles that include a play store, a castle, and colorful curtains perfect for making forts and tunnels. All materials used on FLEXA products are environmentally friendly and all textiles are certified non-toxic and chemical-free.
This is the second time this season FLEXA has been featured on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” FLEXA also was invited to participate in the redecoration of the Ripatti family home in Redondo Beach. The show aired December 10, 2006.
“We’re a Danish company who is relatively new to the US and this is a big event for us. We’re delighted to be part of the ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ shows,” says Sorensen. “We hope to be part of many more.”
