Evan Almighty Inspires Random Acts of Generosity |

October 24, 2007 |
Oct 25, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --Evan Baxter’s congressional campaign declared that he would change the world, but he never stated how. Upon taking office, strange things started to happen. All different kinds of animals started following Evan around. His beard wouldn’t stop growing. Through a series of miracles, the supplies, tools and necessary space were provided for a huge project. God appeared and told Evan to build an ark - because there will be a flood.
Evan’s friends and family deserted him because they think he is crazy. God appeared to Evan’s wife and told her that God doesn't give things; he gives the opportunity to get things. For example, God doesn't give a family togetherness; he gives the opportunity for families to be together. Seeing his meaning, Joan returns to Evan to finish the ark together.
Of course there was a flood (due to a recently built faulty dam), and the spectators who were mocking and jeering at Evan and his family earlier, now ran for their lives onto the ark at the last moment, thus saving their lives.
God reappeared to Evan on a later family outing, God told Evan that the way to change the world is by doing one Act of Random Kindness ("ARK") at a time.
Being inspired by this film and its simple message, McKinney based mortgage professionals are moved to act. They called on the community to gather coats, sweaters, jackets, boots, shoes, gloves and all other clothing. The items were collected at the McKinney office for distribution. As an Act of Random Kindness, Pac Banc Mortgage delivered these items personally to the homeless in Downtown Dallas and McKinney.
Special thanks go out to all who donated, volunteered and contributed in so many different ways. We appreciate COI Dallas, Dr. Arora and Laura of McKinney Pain and Wellness, Beth Olson, Schroeder Insurance Group, Shelley Duke of Employ Solutions/ES OnDemand, Tabitha Cunningham of Delta Dallas and countless others. Many lives have been affected by this Act of Random Kindness.
When asked, Christian Claudio stated “It is getting cold out there and we are committed to making sure everyone stays warm this winter. We hope A.R.K. really catches on and many other local groups will come together and want to spread generosity and kindness across all socio-economic strata, one act of random kindness at a time.”
Another volunteer added “we really feel blessed to be part of something so helpful; it just makes you feel good!”
Pac Banc Mortgage is McKinney, Texas most successful mortgage operation. For more information on the next A.R.K. event or any other information regarding this release, log on to PacBancMortgage.com/ark. |
