EMERGENCY ADVICE FOR PEOPLE LIKE JAMES KIM WHO HIKE OUT OF SNOWBOUND & STRANDED SITUATIONS

_____________________________________________________________

The Bigfoot Investigators & Researchers Organization recommends to all its members, and to the motoring public, that in the event of a similar James Kim tragedy situation, where a car is stalled for days in a remote area, that anyone trying to hike out for help, must always stay on the nearest road, and never go into the bush and downstream on creeks hoping to find other people. Helicopters will tend to search the roads, and there is no guarantee that any creek or river will soon produce civilization and help. Whereas on TV it is shown that in a wilderness area, creeks will lead to people, this applies only to people who parachute in and did not get there by car. Such as a plane crash situation.

The BIRO suggests staying by the car and building a large fire nearby to attract attention, plus waving flares or mariners’ hand held strobe lights to get attention from the air. James Kim’s idea to burn tires was a good one, provided there was absolutely no chance of turning around and driving out.

Snow does sometimes melt and free up the road. Every car should keep blankets, flares, flashlights, a cell phone with plug in power, and other survival gear in the trunk. If anyone does hike out, they should stick to the roads, since their tracks can be followed, and they may encounter another car. The hiker must have a hat, a parka, some food, water, matches, a knife, a compass if possible, flares and a other basic portable gear.

As a side note, Bigfoot creatures have from time to time rescued lost children and hikers and it is subject of our studies.

The BIRO offers its condolences to the Kim family in this time of sadness.

It is hoped this advice will save other lives.
