Ridgewood, NJ - March, 2008— Spring may be a ways off, but the River Vale School System has already gone green. The system currently has a strong recycling program in place that was organized by the fourth grade gifted classes. This program is receiving attention and support from the community. Local pizzerias recently awarded pizzas to the classes that recycled the most.

In further support of recycling programs, Internet retailer GreenOfficeStore.com http://www.GreenOfficeStore.com has donated 1000 environmentally friendly Earthwrite Recycled Pencils http://www.greenofficestore.com/details.asp?id=PAP12242 to Woodside Elementary School and Roberge Elementary School.

The pencils are #2 lead grade using a ceramic, non-waxed lead type. Earthwrite pencils http://www.greenofficestore.com/details.asp?id=PAP12242 are PMA certified non-toxic and use a green vinyl eraser. Largely constituted of reclaimed wood, they are made from 100% pre-consumer waste. The user might not even notice a difference from an ordinary pencil. But the positive effects on the environment will be felt more and more as people use green products.

“We are constantly trying to keep the kids and staff motivated to recycle,” says Meryl Wolf of the River Vale School System. “The pencils are another such motivator.”
