Floria legislation mandates that homes with certain construction features qualify for a significant reduction in their wind storm premiums. Discounts ranging from 26-56% of the total hurricane premium are available via this certification process. These discounts are not automatically given to homes when the policies are bound, insurance companies require and independent certification by a trained Wind Mitigation Inspector.
