CLERGY AND ACTIVIST PLAN DEMONSTRATION AT SUBPRIME LENDER:

Sep 04, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --Detroit, MI (9/3/07) - On Friday August 31, 2007 the New York Times reported President Bush’s plans to influence a bail out opportunity that will "jawbone" subprime lenders into renegotiating loan terms that are heading into foreclosure.

Rev. Charles E. Williams II said, “The Presidents Band aid plan is to save hedge funds and mortgages companies not struggling customers who face foreclosures.”

On Tuesday September 4th Clergy and activist will gather together in protest and kickoff a boycott against the most aggressive Subprime lender; Countrywide home mortgage. The group demand to meet with CEO Author Mozilo to request canceling the subprime product that causes the extreme foreclosures in Michigan. Michigan is one of the top states that has suffered drastic foreclosures.

Pastor D. A. Bullock, “This product is disastrous and has not just affected the low income, but middle class families, and local churches have been foreclosed and Neighborhoods have been destroyed.”

Rev. Charles E. Williams II is the president of the Mary Church Terrell Council for Community Empowerment. This organization was instrumental in overturning a policy in Redford Township that gave police officers incentives for making tickets quotas. Also, it organized the successful demonstration against DTE’s unfair credit reporting policy. This year Rev. Williams II was featured on WWJ 950 black history month change agents of the present segment.
