CATHOLIC NEWS WEBSITE, PEWSITTER.COM INIATES COVERAGE IN THE DIOCESE OF RALEIGH

Danboro, PA - September 6, 2007 – Pewsitter.com, a unique Catholic news web site launched earlier this year, announced today that it has initiated news coverage in the Diocese of Raleigh. One of Pewsitter’s long term goals is to provide news coverage for each individual diocese throughout the U.S. Today’s announcement is the first small, but important, step down the road to accomplishing this goal.

Most of the news currently found on Pewsitter has been gathered from third party, traditional news sources. However, one of the founding principles of Pewsitter was to give faithful Catholics a voice in shaping the news by enabling them to report news-worthy items within their parish and diocese that might otherwise go unreported. “We want to enlist the army of faithful Catholics within a diocese, to keep each other abreast of what is going on within their communities and parishes by submitting news items to Pewsitter,” stated James Todd, Pewsitter’s founder. Pewsitter’s diocesan news pages will act as a central repository and clearinghouse for this local information, including an events calendar. The events calendar or listing is a free service provided by Pewsitter.

Anna Zeigler, has been assigned as the Associate News Editor for the Diocese of Raleigh. Anna is a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Rocky Mount, NC, a mother of four, and an assistant teacher at the parish school.
