(Fayetteville, NC) – The spring of 2007 promises to be a busy one for Fayetteville, NC native Veetra King, who walked the runway as a fashion model at the Fayetteville Crown Coliseum during the February Bridal Bouquet Wedding Showcase.

While the emerging actress was rehearsing for her part in the late March stage production of “To Kill A Mockingbird” to be performed at Fayetteville Technical Community College – where she is completing a degree in Business Administration – she was also cast in her first motion picture role.

King successfully auditioned for the part of Cecibel Vargas – a college student in the independent film thriller “The Darkest Heart” – and begins filming in April on location in North Carolina. She has also appeared on the CWTV network television show “One Tree Hill” and was on radio station WVOL 1470 in Nashville, Tennessee, during host Jim Starr’s morning show “Blues Café”. Oprah Winfrey was first discovered by WVOL, a fact that King hopes bodes well for her own career.

King’s interest in the performing arts began at age five, when she first sang in her local church. Before graduating from high school she participated in numerous school plays, learned keyboard, studied theatrical hair and make-up, and began writing poems. Her hobbies evolved into more serious pursuits, and now she has completed the writing of one original script, has almost a dozen working titles for screenplays, and is an active member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), a nationwide professional organization for creative musicians. Two years ago King launched her own entertainment company, “ButtaFly Entertainment”.

Veetra King is represented by the BoccaLuppo talent agency and is available for commercials, print media, film, and television.
