Jul 23, 2008 -- /prbuzz/ -- Access International Group, the company behind the popular Aussie Phonecard, has announced the release of earlybird, a new off peak phonecard product for Australia. Earlybird was released at the c-store 2008 trade show in Melbourne today.

Offering rates from half a cent per minute to popular destination countries such as China, Malaysia, UK, USA, Taiwan, Sweden, Spain, New Zealand and many more. The earlybird Phonecard now provides consumers with a real alternative when looking to stay in touch with family and friends overseas, without the excessive phone bills, that normally accompany long distance calls.

“earlybird” calls are billed in two minute blocks. This is 50% better than the three minute blocks billed by daybreak, the market leader in this category of phonecard.

“Our new “earlybird” phonecard provides genuine low cost calling options to over 200 countries without any connection fees or account service fees and based on high quality lines” commented Access Managing Director Steve Mclean. “This is a phonecard Australians & International visitors have been waiting for.”

Access is formally launching the “earlybird” card at the C-Store trade show in Melbourne next week. Following this launch the company will be providing marketing collateral to its network of retail partners including newsagents, convenience stores & backpacker hostels around Australia.

The new earlybird card offers industry leading rates to countries previously not well served such as India, Iraq, Turkey and Vietnam.

The Australian phonecard market is estimated to be worth in excess of $220 million a year with annual growth of 12%. The segment targeted by “earlybird” is estimated to be worth 33% of the total phonecard market.
