Jul 09, 2008 -- /prbuzz/ -- In the wake of the collapse of the Bill Express network yesterday, Tower Systems today announced the release of a low cost point of sale (POS) platform for newsagents and convenience stores for vending electronic payments products such as mobile phone recharge and phonecards.
For $4,995 or a lease cost of under $35 a week, small newsagents and c-stores can have a fully functional point of sale platform including all hardware, software, training and support and access to eziPass electronic voucher product such as mobile phone recharge, phonecards, magazine subscriptions, tollway passes, tourism tickets and prepaid internet access products.
“Now small newsagents and c-stores can afford the same POS toolset more than 1,500 newsagents already enjoy.” commented Mark Fletcher, Managing Director of Tower Systems, “We have negotiated special pricing from key suppliers to create this amazing value offer.”
“Using this software newsagents can track stock, cut theft, speed up sales, keep more accurate records and better serve customers. We expect the average store to benefit by at least eight times the weekly lease cost.”
eziPass is a PC based alternative to the traditional pin pad terminal used in retail outlets for dispensing voucher product such as mobile phone recharge, phonecards, event tickets, Visa Prepaid, magazine subscriptions and tolling top up.
The Bill Express Dialtime platform has been the most widely used electronic voucher platform in newsagencies for years. The company yesterday advised its merchants to cease using its network.
