BRITISH COMPOSERS TONY LOWE and ALISON FLEMING BALLOTED FOR 6 GRAMMYS.

Oct 24, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --For the second time in two consecutive years, Tony Lowe and Alison Fleming have been balloted for the prestigious Grammy Awards, the music industry’s equivalent to the Oscars.
Esteemed composer and producer Tony Lowe, along with co-writer Alison Fleming, are up for 6 awards for the 2008 Grammys, an unprecedented achievement for independent musicians. With an awards ceremony of this calibre, it is usual for mainstream artists to receive accolades for their work; Tony and Alison value the recognition, as they have been an integral part of the music scene for a number of years.
“It was a big surprise to be balloted again this year and we’re very happy to be in with another chance at the Grammys.
A huge thank you to everyone that has supported Alison and I over this last couple of years; also, special thanks to Cheryl Taesali at STRING and Al Gomes and A. Michelle at Big Noise USA for believing in us.”
Tony Lowe has written music for TV, Film and Theatre. He has produced many independent artists and continues to encourage and help upcoming writers. He has also worked with a wealth of prominent artists those of which include Julian Lennon, The Pet Shop Boys, Toyah Wilcox, Phil Ramone, Stephen Short, Visage, Danelle Harvey, Soulseekerz, Tim Rice and Demis Roussos as well as appearing on TV shows worldwide alongside artists such as Aretha Franklin, Genesis and The Commodores.
This year, the ballot categories for the CD ‘Second Nature’ are:
Record of the Year • Album of the Year • Song of the Year • Best Pop Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal - Tony Lowe & Alison Fleming – Dancing in the Snow • Best Pop Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal – Tony Lowe and Alison Fleming – Healing of the Heart • Best Pop Vocal Album.

Tony has been twice nominated for a Golden Kayak Award for musical excellence at IAC and the album 'All of the Above' made the first ballot for the 2007 Grammy awards in eight categories.

Currently, Tony is working on new material and is touring with ethical indie label Tygahoney Music’s signing Danelle Harvey. His new work and shows are in progress and due for nationwide release in 2008.
