October 12, 2009 -- Tina Turbin will appear on the weekly radio show, Off The Shelf, with Denise Turney (www.chistell.com), author of the books Portia, Love Has Many Faces, Spiral, Long Walk Up and Love Pour Over Me (to be released early 2010). Saturday morning Turney will sit down with Tina and discuss her experience working in Hollywood, how she came to be photographed with renowned singer and actor Bing Crosby, her children’s book Danny The Dragon and her show business guide for parents and children titled Show Biz Kids East Coast Guidebook.
During the one hour feature interview, Denise and Tina, mother of a child who worked actively in show business, will also discuss how parents can learn more about getting their children reputable entertainment jobs. The women will also tackle literacy, the importance of healthy eating and the value of partnering with established and up-and-coming businesses to grow artistic endeavors. Specific steps that writers can take to become published in local newspapers, national and international magazines and other media outlets are other tips shared during the interview.
Tina Turbin (www.tinaturbin.com) is the author of the picture book series Danny the Dragon. She is also mother to three adult children, a wife, a licensed interior designer, instructor and researcher. October 30 at 8 o’clock, Tina’s book Danny the Dragon will be read at Pasadena City College. The entertainment event will spotlight Sesame Street’s famous Muppet characters.
