| New York, New York -- May 02, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- Covering 2,000 plus miles on a 16,000 mile journey is quite a milestone for anyone. But for Priscilla Houliston, who weighed 390 pounds in June 2006, it is nothing short of a miracle. This same time last year Priscilla, a Pennsylvania native, couldn't even tie her own shoes or get out of a chair without the help of her husband, Morton. Today the couple bicycle between 30 and 50 miles on average. They are riding around the coastlines and borders of the entire United States to spread the word that obesity is a problem that can be solved easier with lots of little changes. They also carry the message that exercise is the secret ingredient to any weight loss plan, that needs to be a 30 minute part of everyones life. Starting with just 1/2 mile of walking each day, Priscilla has decided to change her life for the better and take the rest of the world with her. Virtually. The pair have a website, www.LittleChanges.com, where people from all over the world are logging on to see her weight falling off. It seems that riding the bicycle for 7 or 8 hours a day is really working. She has shed over 1/4 of her body in less than a year. Starting in Key West, Florida, the pair have reached their 2,000th mile just before crossing over into New York. It means they are one-eighth of the way finished, with the most incredible journey of their lives. Obsticles like dogs chasing them, truck trailers bumping into them and the never ending problem of where to pitch their tent at night, the couple are resolved to talk to as many people they can about looking in the mirror at their health. "Exercise is the first thing that has really worked in my thirty years of struggling with my weight" says Priscilla. "I want to share the word that anyone can do this, it just takes a few little changes." Houliston adds that being honest with yourself is vital as well. No exercise or menu change will help you if you cheat yourself out of it. She is very familiar with the dishonest side of dieting. Blaming everything but herself, Priscilla would make excuses why diet after diet would fail her. When she finally took a look in the mirror, she realized her eating was out of control and turned to her life-long enemy, exercise. "With each step I felt more alive, I could have walked to the moon if there was only a bridge!" Houliston exclaims. Exercise has since turned into a regular part of the couples life and they plan to keep up with it until the day they die. Bridges that Houliston would have to push her bicycle and sixy-pound trailer over, are now conquered as she grows stronger with each mile. The public can watch from the comfort and safety of their own computer as these two battle obesity, the weather, wild animals and road construction for another 14,000 miles, for almost two more years. Exotic locations like the wilderness in Alaska, the islands of Hawaii and the rugged desert (not dessert) will entertain the now thousands, hopefully millions that log on to see and take part in this lesson in hope. May 1, 2007, while at the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City, the couple will reveal to the public and the press their new online PLEDGE & PARTICIPATE area of their website. This will invite the public to take the pledge, regardless of their size and shape, to commit to 30 minutes of exercise each day. The visitors to the website can talk about their own "little" changes, post pictures, interact with Priscilla and Morton, even host them for a night on their journey. "We want to share this brilliant adventure on the road to fitness with the world" Houliston states.
