Oct 16, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --October 16, 2007 – England – acclaimed British children’s author, Lynn Brittney, has produced a book, through Amazon-owned company Booksurge, that charts the exploits of a group of teenagers on a mission to save Christmas. Christine Kringle is a funny and quirky exposé of the world of Christmas Gift Bringers - supposedly leaked to the author by Ma Kringle herself (so the dedication in the book states). The opening page reads as follows:

The popular myth, that most people choose to believe, is that there is only one Santa Claus - an immortal being who brings presents to all the children in the world in one night. The reality, as anyone who is a member of the Yule Dynasty knows, is that there are, actually, many, many Santa’s - all with different names, all servicing their own countries or regions - and they are not immortal at all.
Granted, the average male life expectancy of a Yule is around 270 years but these Santa’s operate family businesses and the job is handed down from father to son.
This, in essence, was the problem that was facing the Kringle family, the USA branch of the Yule Dynasty, as they flew towards the final approach of Korvatunturi Reindeerport in Finland for the annual Yule Conference. Kriss Kringle, one of the busiest and most hardworking members of the Yule Dynasty, due to the large population of the United States, had no male heir. He and Mrs Kringle had been blessed only with a daughter, Christine, who was now fourteen years old.
It was time, as Ma Kringle had said, before they left home, "to bite the bullet." This year, Kriss was going to propose a motion that females be allowed to inherit the mantle of Christmas Gift Bringer.

But – just as the Yule Dynasty are about to vote on Kriss’ proposal, a state of emergency is declared. A town in England has effectively banned Christmas! Will this start a worldwide apathy towards the festive season? Not if Christine and her friends can help it. With the help of Babbo Natale’s flying Ferrari and a lot of Christmas spirit, the teenagers set out on their mission.

Illustrated by award-winning artist, Brita Granström, and aimed at anyone over the age of ten, Christine Kringle is going to be the most talked-about book this Christmas.

The book is available online at Amazon.com or order it from local booksellers.

Also, check out the website, www.christinekringle.com and see how children (and the young at heart!) can play the flying Ferrari game; get an email from the Yule Dynasty and post their own reviews of the book.

Christmas may never be the same again.
