It is a pleasure to discover the work of Cabrera.  His art is the antithesis of trendiness - It is universal.  Above all, it stands at the axis of all time because the medium Cabrera has selected for his art - IRON - is both as ancient, as contemporary, as civilization itself. His paintings allow you to appreciate iron in many different ways and textures.  From a distance you think it’s an oil painting, but when you get closer the Iron is visible and you can see how strong his pieces are.  They are very dramatic.  The interplay between the vivid background colors and intricate works of Iron make Cabrera’s pieces stunning to behold and challenge the viewer’s perception of depth.

Ricardo Cabrera was born in 1970 in Bogota, Colombia where he currently lives and works.  He has had numerous solo exhibitions and projects in both Latin America and the United States.
