The wait is over. Edlen is back with another project.

Growing up in SoCal, Daniel was exposed to the range of brilliance from Bach to the Beatles and to the truth & beauty of Rembrandt to Rothko. As a teen, newly turned on to vinyl, he couldn't let records that had been used as frisbees get trashed. So he rescued them with his unique melding of art and music. After honing his skills, Daniel is back with the retro-hip Vinyl Art.

Edlen has made wax his canvas.

Creating portraits of musicians on their original record albums, Daniel honors the music we all now listen to mostly on CD or MP3. He uses shades of grey to bring the face out of the shadows of the grooves and capture the spirit of the subject. Daniel's Vinyl Art gives people a way to say "This is my music, my culture." Framed simply in a black metal LP frame with the album sleeve behind, the focus is on the original painting. The unique surprise is when first-timers see the pieces in person and their minds are expanded.

Seen at Gasoline in El Segundo CA, Wild About Music in Austin TX, and Zia Records in Tempe AZ, Vinyl Art is a conversation starter for all ages and tastes. Check out the website at vinylart.info to get hip to Edlen's creation!
