An Angel in Human Form

Nov 02, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --In the historic city of Pella Iowa, where Christianity, belief in community and the love of helping fellow neighbors is predominant, there is an organization at the heart of that very concept - The Guardian Angel,Inc Children's Foundation.

Among charitable children's programs in Iowa, Guardian Angel, Inc is at the front line, helping children and teens from all walks of life, as well as the underpriviledged, those with disabilities and/or children that have been victims of abuse and neglect.

It's founder, Dr. Ana Lopez-Dawson, is a recognized figure in the Pella community. She has proudly and extensively served countless children and families in Iowa for over 20 years. Due to her specialized work with children and her background as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, she understands first hand what children and teens need and how to help them be empowered and filled with enough love and self-esteem
to become anything they want to be.

With a vision and focused purpose she set off to establish Guardian Angel, Inc - a 503(c) non-profit organization for children based in Pella since 2006. Guardian Angel now houses several programs for the children and teens of Iowa, where they can learn and adapt life skills, goal setting and accomplishement and thus, embark on a self-development journey that will keep them away from sabotage and delinquency.


Dr. Ana accomplishes this through various programs and acivities throughout the year. The popularity of the programs has increased tremendously due to the positive changes that are visible in the children participating in the related activities. Some of these programs include:

WOW - Rewarding Outstanding Work by teaching goal setting and accomplishments and celebrating each child with a 3-hour celebration at the end of their productive month with games and fun activities.

Threads of Love - Ensures that children in Foster care or shelters are dressed with high quality, boutique-style clothing for school and throughout the year.

Angel Academy - Teaching life skills through the ARTS and providing 5th graders with the chance to partake in Ballroom Dancing through our school program.

Hoofs of Love - Helping children with mental or learning disabilities with the assistance of Horses.

Guardian Angel, Inc has showed continued growth due to the generous support
and contributions of the people of Pella. From the wonderful individuals who volunteer to help with our children to the donations we receive in order to fund these programs, it has all been for the greater good and we could not be happier.

Be it $5 or $500, it is the generosity of your hearts that we are thankful for; as we are only able to develop and fund the GA programs through your contributions.
