AMERICAN BORDER SECURITY SUFFERS AT THE HANDS OF CONGRESS AGAIN
What do the American people have to do to convince congress and the President that we want them to secure our country’s borders and protect us from the illegal alien invasion that is slowly but surely destroying this country?
Congress has just passed a bloated a 3,500-page, $555 billion dollar Omnibus budget bill that clearly demonstrates how Congress and the President are out of touch with the American people on the issues of border security and illegal immigration. This outrageous spending bill was written by the Democrat majority and passed 253-154, mostly with their votes, but with Republican help as well.
How many of our representatives and senators do you think actually read the two-foot think bill they voted on? After all, they had just over one day to read the entire 3,500 pages. That would require them to read over two pages a minute for 24 hours with no breaks of any kind. I’m pretty sure none of them read the entire bill. That’s a serious problem. Congress is routinely voting on legislation most of them haven’t read. We need a ‘Read the Bills Act’ requiring members of congress to certify that they have read the bills and understand them before they vote on them.
In addition, the Heritage Foundation has identified 9,241 earmarks in the Omnibus budget bill, totaling just over $23.5 billion of the taxpayers money. The people of America may not have gotten much out of this bill other than a huge increase in spending, but the special interests surely have.
Remember last year when members of congress were on the receiving end of the American public’s outrage over their inability to secure our border. They were so intimidated by the American voters that they passed the
