Aenvia.com, an online art venue, has been launched, making a bold entrance into the market.
On December 1st, 2007, three entrepreneurs from Minneapolis launched Aenvia.com, built on an idea for an online art venue over a year in the making. The goal was simple: create a web-based art gallery oriented toward the artists themselves, in the hopes of creating not only an e-business, but an e-community as well.
The three individuals, Ari Clark, Alex Filler, and the head of the project, Grandville Ricks, all came from diverse backgrounds; art, business, and computer science, respectively. After frequenting their local Starbucks for nearly fourteen months, the idea became a reality. And that reality hit the ground running. For several weeks before the site had gone live, friends, fans, and real artists had signed on, creating user accounts in advance. In six days, Aenvia has accumulated over one hundred registered users, many of whom are professional artists, and has several thousand dollars worth of items listed for sale. With a steadily increasing number of hits from both unique and repeat visitors, the growth trajectory and potential of Aenvia, LLC is unlimited.
In effect, Aenvia.com has taken the growing trend of internet-based social networking, and combined it with an online adaptation of an age-old trade, creating a unique place for artists and art enthusiasts alike to share their work and ideas, as well as connect with people and communities that share their interests.
